Dew Lilly Design is a sole proprietorship, owned by Anne Cossette (the owner, author and creator of this portfolio web site) a professional freelance graphic artist and web site designer.
I'm a freelance professional, working out of my home studio. I specialize in both Website and Graphic Design. In other words, I custom design graphic user interfaces (the visual part of a web site, aka GUI or mock-up) according to the client's specifications, goals and needs. After final approval I then turn the GUI into a functioning web site using clean, semantic, standards compliant markup.
I also specialize in logo design, as well as print design, e.g. business cards, brochures, fliers, presentations, SOQ's, print-ads and more.
I operate my business according to a strong code of ethics and a high level of standards in service and quality (I subscribe to the AIGA's Standards of Professional Practice (PDF)).
Being a business owner myself, I value my clients and understand the importance of always delivering on-time, sticking to an affordable and pre-determined budget and providing excellent customer service, both during and after projects are completed.
I am always upfront about all costs and ensure that there are no hidden expenses or other surprises.
I make use of a proven process to draft a comprehensive design brief with the client before starting any project, and I make myself available by phone, e-mail or in person to discuss the project and its progress at all stages.
An experential learner, I started teaching myself web development in early 2000, first coding HTML/CSS using a text editor and FTP (File Transfer Protocol software) which I later replaced with more standard professional, modern software and equipment.
At the same time I started learning graphic design. Specifically for web design at first and later identity and print design. My education in this field is an ongoing process and I continue to hone my skills and expertise, as both a graphic designer and a web designer and developer.
I follow a tried and true work process for each client project. The benefits are manifold, for both the client and me: It saves time, keeps costs down and ensures the best possible outcome.
